FEATURES:

  • Cutoff Frequencies: 120 to 330 Mhz
  • Seven standard frequencies
  • Low loss: <0.5 dB max
  • 100 watt power rating.
  • Sharp cutoff: 50 dB@1.3Fc
  • Wide stopband: >6*Fc minimum
  • Low Return Loss: <16 dB
  • Small size: 2"W x 2"D x 1.6"H
  • Low cost

Applications

These filters are ideally suited for signal processing, low power transmitters or harmonic filters. For signal processing applications where high dynamic range is required these filters are ideal. The high power rating and careful design yields extremely high intercept points.
The sharp cutoff makes this filter ideal for harmonic suppression. It reaches cutoff at 50 dB at no more than 1.3 times Fc. A 120 Mhz filter would be useable from 78 Mhz to 120 Mhz with the 2nd harmonic suppressed at least 50 dB.
The stop-band is rated at >50 dB to at least 6 times the cutoff frequency. This wide suppression width makes the filters useful for receiver front end protection from co-located transmitters in adjacent frequency bands.

Description

The CBL series of low-pass filters are carefully designed to yield high performance in a small package.

The electrical design is a traditional chebychev that is optimized to utilize parasitic components (such as series inductance) to improve performance. All capacitors are surface mount with low loss porcelain dielectric for maximum circuit Q. In addition all inductors are carefully designed for maximum Q. The use of high saturation magnetics improves the intercept point and the power rating. At low signal levels (<+20 dBM) the intermodulation distortion is excellent.

Description-cont

The CBL filters also are available with a splash proof option. This will allow the filters to be mounted out of doors or on an open vehicle such as an APC or Humvee.

Several different types of connectors are available at nominal extra cost. These include BNC, SMA and N. If a special connector arrangement is desired please contact the factory.

The CBL HF filters are contained in a heavy-duty nickel plated brass enclosure providing excellent shielding against magnetic and electrical signals. Stainless steel hardware and nickel plating prevent corrosion from dissimilar metal action. You can expect the unit to withstand many years of normal abuses of heavy use. For economy, the case is a folded and welded construction rather than a machined can.

Quality

To insure that high quality is maintained each unit is thoroughly inspected both mechanically and electrically. Critical components are 100% inspected and tested before assembly into the units. All parameters are tested using the latest in advanced ATE. The unit is then subjected to shock, vibration and temperature extremes; after which it is re-tested to insure compliance.
