Applications |
This kit is designed to compliment the General Dynamics R2590 communications service monitor. Option RLN5304A is required in order to use this kit to the fullest extent. Included are all components required to make high precision return loss measurements. |
To simplify the setup, the cables are labeled as to which port they connect to on the service monitor and return loss bridge. The connectors are exact mates so that no adapters are required. This allows the return loss bridge to be directly connected to the DUT. It is not recommended to use a cable between the bridge and the DUT as this cable will become part of the measurement. |
Description |
The components are contained in a durable plastic case. This not only protects the components during transit from one job to another, but also helps prevent loss. The case is 10 wide x 8 5/16 deep x 3 high. |
The return loss bridge covers from 5.0 Mhz to 2000 Mhz. For more information see RLB150N4A specification sheet.
The precision termination and short are used to verify that the bridge is in calibration and to determine the open/short ratio before making your measurement. |

Two six db attenuators are included. These are useful when making return loss measurements where most of the power is reflected (high return loss). In these types of measurements it is necessary to improve the open/short ratio. Using the attenuators improves the port match which improves the open short ratio. |
The included power divider can be used for cable distance to fault measurements in conjunction with the R2590 and optional software. |
