The primary application is to be a reference short for use in the calibration of network analyzers. It can also be used for a protective cover when the equipment is not being used. Or, if impedance is not critical, to prevent radiation from a connector that is not being used. |
Description |
This termination is constructed in a precision nickel-plated brass housing. The RFT000NM1 is designed such that the transmission line length is very short, less than 0.05", thus assuring the short occurs at the reference plane of the mating connector. The internal workings rotate independently of the coupling nut so that the center pin does not rotate, thus preventing possible damage to the mating socket center pin as the nut is being tightened. |
Quality |
To insure that high quality is maintained each unit is thoroughly inspected both mechanically and electrically. All parameters are tested using the latest in advanced ATE. The unit is then subjected to shock, vibration and temperature extremes; after which it is retested to insure compliance. |
